Conbextra Grout Aggregate - 20kg
Chemically inert fillers (<5mm) for use with Conbextra EP65 and Conbextra Cementitious Grouts. Increases yield and allows deeper pours to be achieved. The addition of aggregate reduces exothermic heat development enabling increased pour sizes while minimizing reduction in flow and strength of grouts.

Conbextra Grout Aggregate - 20kg Technical Details
Product Overview
Conbextra Grout Aggregate is a graded and rounded dry aggregate product specifically designed to enhance various cementitious and epoxy grout formulations within the Fosroc product line. It is supplied in 20kg bags with the material code FC502021-20KG.
Physical Properties
Aggregate Specifications
- Particle Size: 5 to 6 millimeters
- Material Classification: Well-graded, silt-free dry aggregate
- Maximum Aggregate Size: 5mm
- Hazard Classification: Classified as not hazardous for RCS (Respirable Crystalline Silica) in accordance with the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals, containing less than 0.1% RCS
Primary Applications
Conbextra Grout Aggregate serves multiple strategic purposes in grouting applications:
Cost and Performance Benefits
- Reduces material costs while maintaining grout performance standards
- Increases yield and potential pour sizes
- Economical solution for extended coverage applications
- Minimizes exothermic heat buildup during the curing process, preventing thermal stress and potential cracking in large pours
- Minimizes reduction in flow and strength of grouts
Compatibility with Conbextra Product Range
The aggregate demonstrates compatibility with multiple grout systems:
Cement-Based Grouts
For cementitious applications, up to 10kg of aggregate can be added per 20kg of Conbextra grout, yielding approximately 4 litres per 10kg of aggregate added.
Epoxy-Based Grouts
Conbextra EP65 Plus: Add up to 10kg of aggregate per 14-litre kit with typical yield increase of approximately 4 litres per 10kg of aggregate added.
Conbextra EP120 Plus: Compatible with aggregate addition to reduce material cost while maintaining performance.
Conbextra EP935, Conbextra HS, Conbextra HES, and Conbextra GP: Can be incorporated at a maximum filling ratio of 2:1 grout to aggregate by weight to accommodate gaps exceeding standard thickness limitations.
Conbextra UW: Employed to fill thicker sections at a maximum recommended ratio of 10kg of aggregate per 20kg bag of Conbextra UW.
Mixing Instructions
For Cement-Based Grouts
- Accurately measure the selected water content into the mixer
- Slowly add contents of grout and mix continuously for 3 minutes ensuring smooth, even consistency
- Slowly add Conbextra Grout Aggregate to mixed grout and mix for a further 2 minutes
- Note: Do not exceed the top-end water content stated on the Technical Data Sheet
For Epoxy-Based Grouts
- Mix the hardener slowly into the base using a slow-speed heavy-duty mixer
- Once combined, mix the product at 350 to 400 RPM until uniform mix is obtained
- Slowly add Conbextra Grout Aggregate to mixed grout and mix for a further 2 minutes
Important Limitations
- Flow characteristics reduction: The addition of aggregate to grout will reduce the flow characteristics of the product
- High flow requirement caveat: If high flow performance is required, it is not recommended that aggregate be added
- Air entrainment caution: When adding aggregate to epoxy-based grouts, air may be entrained in the mix. Allow the mixed product to settle and expel air bubbles before placing
