Anti-Slip Aggregate Integration
Nitoflor PU600 works with anti-slip aggregate systems:
- Nitoflor Anti-Slip Grains 01: Applied at 3 to 4 kg/m² providing R11 slip rating
- Nitoflor Anti-Slip Grains 21: Applied at 3 to 4 kg/m² providing R13 slip rating
The broadcast aggregates are applied immediately after spike rolling, creating enhanced slip resistance when encapsulated with Nitoflor PU200 topcoat.

Application Method
Preparation Requirements
- Concrete substrate minimum strength: 25 MPa
- Substrate must be free from coatings and contaminants
- Substrate dry to less than 95% relative humidity
- Requires effective damp-proof membrane and be free from rising damp
- All cementitious laitance must be removed via shot blasting and/or scarification
Application Process
The Nitoflor PU600 topping is spread onto a primed floor using a steel trowel or gauging rake immediately after mixing. The process involves:
- Mixing all components thoroughly
- Spreading to required thickness on primed floor
- Immediate spike rolling to release entrapped air (within 8 minutes)
- Broadcasting slip-resistant aggregate to full cover
- Allowing cure time (minimum 5 hours @ 25°C)
Substrate Compatibility
Nitoflor PU600 functions as a basecoat in comprehensive flooring systems:
- Applied directly to concrete substrates
- Can function as a single-layer system when sealed with Nitoflor PU200
- Serves as foundation for multi-layer systems requiring additional protection
- Bond strength greater than 3 MPa with Nitoflor PA, demonstrating suitability as a reliable base for subsequent coating applications
Storage Requirements
- Store in cool, dry conditions between 5°C and 30°C
- Store in original, unopened packs
- Part B Hardener: 18 months shelf life from manufacture
- Part C Fillers: 24 months shelf life from manufacture
- High temperatures and/or high humidity may reduce shelf life
Standards Compliance
- AS/ISO 9239.1-2003: Reaction to Fire Tests for Floorings
- Critical Heat Flux (CHF): ≥11.0 kW/m²
- Smoke Value: 28% (min)
- HACCP Certification: Approved for use in food handling areas (SSZ - Splash or Spill Zone)
Limitations and Considerations
- Not colour fast: May exhibit yellowing over time depending on UV light and heat exposure
- Not suitable for deep freezing or steam-only cleaning
- When cleaning at 100°C, use steam and hot water blend
- Colour change does not compromise product performance or chemical resistance
- Colour uniformity requires using components with identical batch numbers
- Should only be applied by specialist contractors recognized by Fosroc
