Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free from dust and contamination before primer application. Proper preparation ensures optimal adhesion and performance.
Application Process
The substrate should be thoroughly soaked with clean water with any excess removed prior to applying one coat of Nitobond HAR primer. The primer must be scrubbed well into the surface to ensure proper penetration and adhesion.
Application Timing: The Renderoc mortar can be applied as soon as the primer becomes tacky. If the Nitobond HAR becomes too wet, overhead and vertical build-up of Renderoc mortar may present difficulties in application.
Re-priming Requirements: If the Nitobond HAR primer dries before the application of Renderoc mortar, the area must be re-primed before proceeding with mortar application.
Cleaning and Maintenance
All equipment should be washed with clean water immediately after use for easy cleanup.
Application Limitations
- Temperature Restriction: Do not use Nitobond HAR when the temperature is below 5°C and falling
- Spray Application: Nitobond HAR primer is generally not used when spraying Renderoc mortars
Storage Requirements
Nitobond HAR should be stored under the following conditions:
- Temperature Range: 5°C to 25°C
- Conditions: Dry conditions in original unopened packaging
- Protection: Protect from frost to maintain product integrity
Special Circumstances and Alternatives
Exceptional Conditions: In circumstances where a substrate/repair barrier is required or where the substrate is wet or likely to remain permanently damp, Nitobond EP bonding aid should be used as an alternative. Consult Fosroc for further technical guidance in these specific situations.
Manufacturer and Distribution
Nitobond HAR is manufactured and sold under license from Fosroc International Limited. Fosroc and the Fosroc logo are registered trade marks of Fosroc International Limited. The product is distributed by Parchem Construction Supplies Pty Ltd in Australia.
Safety and Compliance
A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Technical Data Sheet (TDS) are available from the Fosroc website. These documents should be read carefully prior to use, as application and performance data may be updated periodically. In emergencies, contact a Poisons Information Centre or medical professional for advice.
