What the title means

Dr Ku is a registered medical practitioner working in cosmetic medicine. The fellowships after his name are qualifications awarded by cosmetic medicine colleges and academies. They are genuine, and they are not specialist registration. There is no AHPRA specialty called "cosmetic surgery", and the title "cosmetic surgeon" has been restricted since 1 July 2023.

If your procedure is surgical, the relevant qualification is Specialist Plastic Surgeon (FRACS) - see the team page. Dr Ku's work is non-surgical.

What Dr Ku does

Dr Ku works in non-surgical facial treatments, principally:

• Thread lifts - including the jawline and the nose
• Injectable treatments for facial volume and contour
• Double chin reduction and jawline definition
• Light-touch liposuction techniques

He has worked in cosmetic medicine for over a decade. He teaches and presents on injection technique and facial anatomy, and has developed his own injection-technique system. A note on the figures: our team listing quotes a longer period of experience than his own profile does. Where two numbers on this site disagree, take the lower one, and ask us directly if it matters to you.

What he cannot do, and will not do

• He does not perform plastic surgery. Surgical procedures at Me Clinic are done by Specialist Plastic Surgeons.
• He cannot promise you a particular result. Nobody can.
• He will decline to treat you if the treatment does not suit your anatomy, if your expectations are not achievable, or if there is a clinical reason to wait.

What to expect at a consultation with him

An assessment of the area, a discussion of what is realistically achievable for your face specifically, the alternatives including doing nothing, the risks, and a written quote. Bring a list of your medications and supplements - several increase bruising and bleeding.

Non-surgical results are temporary and need maintenance. Ask about the annual cost, not just the price of one session.

Call 000 immediately for any change in vision after an injectable treatment. Contact the clinic promptly for increasing pain, spreading redness, skin that turns pale or dusky, or blistering.
