Me Clinic

Plastic surgery, cosmetic medicine, vein treatment and skin treatment in Melbourne, at 4 Burke Road, Malvern East. We have practised here since the early 1980s, and were among the first clinics in Australia to offer liposuction.

This site is for adults. Cosmetic surgery in Australia requires a GP referral, psychological screening, at least two consultations before booking, and a cooling-off period.

Surgical warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Our practitioners, and their registration numbers

Every number below can be checked at ahpra.gov.au in about a minute - it shows qualifications, endorsements, and any conditions on a practitioner's registration. We publish them because you are entitled to them.

A note on titles. "Specialist Plastic Surgeon" requires fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). There is no AHPRA specialty called "cosmetic surgery", and the title "cosmetic surgeon" has been restricted since 1 July 2023. Full explanation on meet the team.

What we do

What it costs

Consultation fees as at September 2024, including GST: Specialist Plastic Surgeon $350, Cosmetic Doctor $150, vein $230, skin assessment $50, mole removal $150.

Indicative procedure ranges: facelift $20,000-$50,000; eyelid surgery $8,000-$18,000 depending on upper, lower or both; rhinoplasty $15,000-$30,000; otoplasty $7,000-$14,000; brow lift from $10,000; thread lift from $4,600; volumising treatments from $590; dermal skin treatments from $130.

You receive a written, itemised quote after consultation. Cosmetic procedures attract no Medicare rebate; where a procedure has a functional indication there may be an MBS item number - ask for it and check with Medicare and your fund yourself. Me Clinic is not a no-gap provider. Full list: prices. And the costs a quote does not show: the total cost.

What to read before you book anything

We do not publish patient testimonials. They are prohibited in advertising for regulated health services under section 133 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, and one person's outcome tells you very little about your own - see patient stories.

The rules that protect you

Since 1 July 2023, before cosmetic surgery in Australia: a referral from your GP or another appropriate practitioner; screening for underlying psychological conditions, including body dysmorphic disorder; at least two consultations before booking, one of which may be by video; and a cooling-off period of at least seven days for adults, or three months plus an independent psychological assessment for anyone under 18.

Any clinic willing to shortcut one of these will shortcut others.
