When used with an automatic opener, AUTO LOCK™ more than doubles the force required at the lock point to lift the door from a closed position, helping protect you and your family.

How does it work?

All you need to do is click the button on your remote and close your garage door like normal. Once the door is closed the AUTO LOCK™ engages by sliding a heavy-duty locking bolt straight through the rail of the garage door, locking it securely shut every time.

To open, simply press the open button on your remote and the bolt will automatically slide out of the guard rail and your door will lift as normal. It’s really that simple!

AUTO LOCK™ ensures you have total peace of mind every time your garage door is closed that it’s not just shut, it’s locked shut. AUTO LOCK™ can be installed on any genuine B&D sectional garage door.

• What is the difference between shut and locked? How do I know if my garage door is locked?

  Like your front door, when you shut your garage door, it’s not necessarily locked. Also like your front door, there are lots of different options and upgrades available for your garage door so that it does lock. Depending on how important security is to you, and what you keep behind your garage door, B&D have a range of security and locking options available to you to help protect the things that matter to you most.

  Most garage doors with automatic openers (or motors) have some built-in security included. You typically need around 30kg to 50kg of force to open a ‘shut’ garage door. By adding a deadbolt locking system, like the B&D AUTO LOCK™, an intruder would need to impose up to 450kg of lifting force to force your garage door open.  That’s the equivalent of someone lifting a 450kg weight! That’s what we call automatically ‘locked’.

  If you see a physical key lock on the outside of your door (manual lock) or you see (and hear) the deadbolt locking system automatically engage from the inside of your garage when you close it, you know your garage door is locked. If you are unsure, give us a call and we can help talk through it with you.

• Do all B&D doors lock?

  Yes, as long as you purchase a B&D door & opener together, there is a locking solution available.

  All B&D sectional garage doors are able to be locked securely shut with our B&D AUTO LOCK™ system.

  B&D Roll-A-Door Secure is a four-part locking system that locks securely shut.
