Singapore Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG)
Program status checked 23 October 2026: Enterprise Singapore currently accepts Energy Efficiency Grant applications from eligible businesses. Its program page and current FAQ set different end dates for the tiers: EEG Base is available until 31 March 2028; applications for EEG Advanced close on 31 March 2027. Check the administrator before committing to equipment, because equipment lists, sector rules and support rates can change.
Base and Advanced support
EEG co-funds eligible energy-efficient equipment for businesses registered and operating in Singapore. The Base tier supports pre-approved equipment, with a grant cap of S$30,000 per company across Base applications. Enterprise Singapore now describes a generic Base route for companies across sectors as well as sector-specific equipment for Construction, Food Services, Manufacturing, Maritime, Retail and users of commercial data centres. The equipment list and application form depend on the applicant's activity and equipment type.
The Advanced tier applies to selected sectors and equipment that demonstrates more than 350 tonnes of expected lifetime carbon abatement. Its combined Base and Advanced cap is S$350,000 per company, subject to the administrator's calculation and eligibility rules. EEG Advanced applications close on 31 March 2027. Some maritime sub-sector opportunities already closed on 31 March 2026, so a maritime business should verify its precise route before planning a project.
Check eligibility before purchase
Enterprise Singapore's FAQ requires a Singapore-registered or incorporated business, generally at least 30% local shareholding with stated exceptions, and group annual sales turnover no greater than S$500 million. Sector, equipment and site requirements also apply. Grant support concerns eligible equipment purchase costs; GST, maintenance and used or refurbished equipment are excluded. Paying a vendor or placing a deposit before applying can make the application ineligible. An applicant should follow the current rules for its tier and wait for the administrator's decision if funding certainty is important.
For a planned upgrade, record the equipment model, site, energy baseline, expected savings, vendor quotation and procurement dates. Check the current EEG equipment list and application instructions, and distinguish a submitted application from an approved grant. Northmore Gordon can help assess the energy case; the administrator decides eligibility and funding.
Related guidance
Is Singapore's Energy Efficiency Grant currently open, and when do its tiers close?
Enterprise Singapore currently lists EEG applications. Its current FAQ says the Base tier remains available until 31 March 2028, while Advanced applications close on 31 March 2027. These are separate deadlines; verify live administrator guidance before committing to equipment.
Can companies outside the original six sectors use EEG Base?
Enterprise Singapore now describes a generic EEG Base route for businesses across sectors, alongside sector-specific equipment for Construction, Food Services, Manufacturing, Maritime, Retail and commercial data-centre users. A company still has to meet applicant, equipment and site eligibility. Check the correct form and current pre-approved equipment list.
What support cap applies to EEG Base?
The Base tier supports pre-approved eligible equipment up to a S$30,000 company cap across Base applications, subject to the current support rate and eligibility. Enterprise Singapore's program page states rates up to 70% for SMEs and up to 30% for non-SMEs until 31 March 2027; later rates should be checked rather than assumed.
What is EEG Advanced and when does it end?
The Advanced tier supports selected sectors' larger equipment investments where expected lifetime carbon abatement exceeds 350 tonnes. Enterprise Singapore lists a S$350,000 combined Base and Advanced company cap, subject to its calculation. Its FAQ says Advanced applications close on 31 March 2027.
Do all maritime EEG routes remain open?
No. Enterprise Singapore notes that Harbourcraft Base and Port Advanced applications closed on 31 March 2026. Other maritime eligibility depends on the relevant sub-sector and equipment route. Check the current administrator page and form before preparing an application.
What general applicant conditions should a business check?
The current Enterprise Singapore FAQ requires a registered or incorporated Singapore business, generally at least 30% local shareholding with stated exceptions, and group annual sales turnover not exceeding S$500 million. Sector, equipment, site and excluded-entity tests also apply. The administrator decides eligibility.
What costs and equipment can EEG support?
EEG supports eligible energy-efficient equipment on the applicable pre-approved list for Base, or qualifying Advanced equipment under its rules. Enterprise Singapore says supportable costs concern equipment hardware, while GST, maintenance and used, refurbished or reconditioned equipment are excluded. Equipment and eligible cost details should be checked against the current tier guidance.
Can a business pay a vendor before applying?
Enterprise Singapore warns that payment or a deposit to a vendor before the application date may cause rejection. Prepare the quotation and evidence first, then follow the applicable portal instructions. A submitted application is not a funding approval, so procurement before the decision carries risk.
What evidence should a business keep for an EEG equipment decision?
Keep the business registration and ownership details, relevant sector or SSIC information, equipment model and pre-approval status, site and vendor quotation, baseline energy use, expected savings and dated procurement records. Advanced applications need suitable evidence for lifetime energy savings and carbon abatement. Follow the current administrator checklist.
Where should a business confirm current EEG rules and apply?
Use Enterprise Singapore's EEG program page and current FAQ, which link to equipment lists, tier guidance and the Business Grants Portal or relevant sector process. Verify the exact tier deadline and eligible equipment before submitting; Northmore Gordon can help evaluate the energy project but cannot approve a grant.
