How Much Does MyBudget Cost?
The honest answer: MyBudget does not publish a single fixed price, because the service is tailored to each person's situation. What follows is exactly how the fees are structured, and what is free.
What's free
- The first appointment — about ten minutes, confidential, no obligation
- Your personalised 12-month budget — built around your income, expenses and goals
The budget is yours to keep whether or not you go any further. Nothing obliges you to join after seeing it.
What you pay if you join
There are two fees:
An establishment fee. This covers setting up your tailored budget and service. Rather than being paid as a lump sum upfront, it is spread across your initial 12-month budget.
An ongoing weekly administration fee. This covers the day-to-day money management — the team, the bill scheduling and payments, app access and Money Coach support.
Both are shown in your proposed budget before you join, alongside everything else. There are no hidden costs and no long-term lock-in contracts.
Why there is no price list
The work differs from client to client. Someone with a single income, four bills and one debt is a different job from a household with irregular income, a dozen creditors and a payment arrangement to negotiate. A fixed price would either overcharge the first or underserve the second.
This is also why any figure you see quoted elsewhere for "the MyBudget fee" should be treated with caution — the number that applies to you is the one in your own proposed budget.
The incidental fee schedule
Separately from the service fees, a schedule of incidental fees applies to specific requests. Under the MyBudget Fee Schedule, effective 16 October 2023, in AUD including 10% GST:
| Fee type | Amount |
|---|---|
| Unbudgeted withdrawals | FREE |
| Transactions processed immediately outside of regular payment runs | $22.00 |
| Arrangements fee (per) | $55.00 |
Fees are subject to change. Your Terms of Service or Budget Plan sets out when these and other fees may apply, and MyBudget advises you of a fee and whether it applies at the time you make the relevant request.
How to think about the value
The useful comparison is not against zero — it is against what the current situation costs you. Late fees, dishonour fees, interest on debt carried longer than necessary, and the hours spent juggling it all have a price too, even when it does not appear on a statement.
In MyBudget's 2026 client survey of 741 respondents, 9 in 10 clients reported less financial stress. Founder and Director Tammy Barton states that 97% of clients' bills are paid on time.
Whether that is worth the fee depends on your situation — which is what the free appointment and free budget are for. You see the numbers before you decide.
