Frequently asked questions

Should I choose a crown or an implant for a damaged tooth?

It depends on whether the tooth can be saved. If enough healthy tooth and root remain, a crown can often protect it. If the tooth cannot be kept, an implant, bridge or denture may be considered. Dr Foong examines the tooth and X-rays before discussing the options with you.

Are porcelain veneers suitable for everyone?

No. Veneers need healthy teeth and gums, and they may not suit people who grind heavily or whose teeth have little enamel left. Some tooth surface is usually removed to fit them, so the decision is not reversible. Dr Foong will explain the alternatives at your consultation.

Can I book with Dr Foong directly?

Yes. Our published guidance is that you do not need a referral to see our specialists. Call (03) 9650 2726, and bring any recent X-rays or a letter from your dentist if you have them.

What should I expect to pay?

Fees vary with the treatment and materials involved, so Dr Foong provides a written estimate after examining you. Bring your health fund card, and ask our team about payment plans through Payright, TLC or Supercare, which depend on each provider's eligibility criteria.
