CHILD DENTAL BENEFIT SCHEDULE (CDBS)

If your child is 2-17 years old, you should receive a letter from medicare letting you know your child is eligible for dental treatment.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The criteria set by Medicare, and administered by Centrelink, which tie into family income, and family tax benefit qualification. You should contact Medicare directly to determine eligibility.

WHAT IS COVERED?

Medicare contribute a set ammount towards basic dental services under CDBS. The services we will cover include:

check-ups
X-rays
cleaning
fissure sealing
fillings
root canals
extractions.

There are some restrictions on basic dental services. You should contact medicare directly with any questions relating to coverage and restrictions on your available balance.

MEDICARE CHILDREN'S DENTAL BENEFITS SCHEDULE (CDBS)

If your child is 0-17 years old, you should receive a letter from Medicare to let you know that your child is eligible for dental treatment services under CDBS

There are criteria set by Medicare and administered by Centrelink. Not all families are eligible for Medicare CDBS. For more information on the CDBS scheme and eligibility requirements, please click here.

If your child is eligible for Medicare CDBS, we are able to provide you with a statement that you submit to claim any applicable rebate directly to Medicare.

You must pay your account in full for any treatment received on the day of your appointment. Depending on your cover and remaining eligibility, there may be a small out-of-pocket expense after you submit your claim depending on the treatment that is provided. This is entirely determined by Medicare.

You can do this via:

the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
your Medicare online account through myGov
a Medicare claim form and posting it to the address on the form
a Medicare claim form and taking it to a service centre.
