Victorian Dental Group caters for many dental surgical procedures. A full Comprehensive Examination is performed first to assess the status of every tooth and associated tissue concerns. Using state-of-the-art technology, we assess the viability of your tooth, it’s nerve innovation and the suitability and risks of any extraction. Our Dentists and network of oral surgeons are then able to respond to your specific needs.

TYPES OF DENTAL SURGERY

TOOTH EXTRACTION

The most common form of dental surgery within a general clinic is the removal of a tooth itself. A tooth is often removed when it can no longer be saved and poses a significant risk to your health. Modern dental techniques and anaesthetics make removal of teeth a painless experience with often minimal downtime post-extraction.

PROSTHODONTICS

Aesthetic dental treatments carried out by a general dentist often involve the re-creation of tooth structures. This can sometimes include the placement of a dental implant to replace a missing tooth, or multiple implants for an implant retained denture.

ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Oral and maxillofacial surgery involves a specialist set of surgical procedures, such as corrective jaw surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, removal of oral cancers, and maxillofacial dental implants.

IS ORAL SURGERY PAINFUL? - ANAESTHETICS AND DENTAL SURGERY

Anaesthetic improves your comfort level by reducing any pain sensations.

There are two types of anaesthetics available for dental surgery; local or general anaesthetic. Broadly – Local anaesthetic causes a temporary loss of sensation (pain) to a localised set of tissues, whereas general anaesthetic temporarily changes your state of consciousness.

Local Anaesthetic is applied by registered dental practitioners. General Anaesthetic is administered by a trained medical anesthesiologist and is often reserved for hospital-based surgical procedures.

TOPICAL DENTAL NUMBING AGENTS

Before an injection at Victorian Dental Group, we apply a prescription-only topical agent to the tissue so that the superficial tissues that receive the injection are numb prior to the injection.

FAQs

HOW MUCH IS IT DO HAVE A TOOTH TAKEN REMOVED?

Depending on the position and status of the tooth (E.g. if the tooth require surgical extraction) the price range for tooth extraction is $550-$650. This does not include impacted wisdom tooth removal requiring hospitalisaton.

CAN I USE MY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE EXTRAS TO HAVE DENTAL SURGERY?

Yes, you can. We have on the spot claiming via hi-caps . You just need to bring your card with you and depending on the level of your cover available, you will only need to pay any applicable gap payment on the day.

DO YOU HAVE PAYMENT PLANS FOR ORAL SURGERY?

Yes. Payments plans are available via Afterpay, or Zippay services.
