What the item is

We call these a cult favourite and describes "Choc-expresso" protein balls with flavours of coffee, a hint of cacao and dates, best chilled or frozen, with a warning to be careful of your teeth. Note a naming inconsistency readers should not resolve on its own: the title says "Double Choc (Ca-Pow)" while the description says Choc-expresso.

Nutrition information

Per ball: 92 calories, 5.5 g protein, 8.1 g carbohydrate. These are the figures we publish on our Snacks, Sides & Extras and Healthy Meals collections.

The product page itself does not carry a full nutrition information panel, so figures for sugars, fat, saturated fat, fibre and sodium are not published online. For the complete panel, check the pack or contact us on 1300 263 257 or support@befitfood.com.au.

We also make these claims about the product:

• Source of protein
• Low in sodium
• Contains no added sugar or artificial sweetener
• Contains no artificial colours and flavours
• Contains Prebiotics for supporting Good Gut Health and Probiotics (Postbiotic type L. Plantarum) for Digestive and Immune Health Benefits — our own wording, not an independently verified statement

Dietary properties

The title carries the suffixes (GF) and (V); the body text makes no separate gluten free or vegetarian statement, so those suffixes are the only indication given. The ingredients include whey protein isolate and concentrate, and milk is a declared allergen, so this is not vegan and not dairy free. Keto is not claimed.

Ingredients

Reproduced as printed on the listing:

Dates, Almond Meal, Be Fit Prebiotic & Postbiotic Protein Powder (22%) (Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Prebiotic (Oligofructose), Chocolate Flavour, Cocoa, Stevia, Postbiotic (Lactobacillus Plantarum), Guar Gum, Soy Lecithin), Cacao Powder, Cacao Nibs, Coconut, Coffee.

Allergens and safety warning

Reproduced verbatim:

• Allergens: Contains Milk, Almonds, Soy
• May contain Sesame Seeds, Peanuts, Tree Nuts
• CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN PITS. CHEW CAREFULLY.

No other allergen status is stated and none should be assumed. The listing also states the balls contain coffee, so they are not caffeine free.

Program fit

A snack item, not a program. Our programs are Be Rapid, Metabolism Reset, Be 1000, Be 1200, the Intermittent Fasting Program and Be Maintenance. The listing assigns these balls to none of them, though protein balls feature in the Intermittent Fasting Program, which provides a pack of 8 — a different pack size from this 7 pack.

Range-wide meal specification — not this item's measured values

we state a general specification across its meal range: about 250 calories per meal, at least 20g protein, under 20g carbohydrate, under 120mg sodium per 100g, no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no preservatives. Range-wide targets for meals, not measured figures for this snack pack.

Serving and storage

The listing has a "Serving & Storage Instructions" section, but no times or temperatures are reproduced in the crawled content — follow the pack. The one serving note printed is that the balls are best chilled or frozen. Be Fit Food products are snap-frozen, not shelf-stabilised; no reheating applies here.
