The Be Fit Food specification
We are an Australian meal delivery service founded by doctors and dietitians, based in Victoria and delivering Australia-wide. We summarise our meals as:
- Doctor and dietitian designed
- Nutritionally balanced
- 4 to 12 vegetables in each meal
- High protein
- Low carbohydrate
- Low sodium, with no sugar added
- Snap frozen to lock in nutrients
In figures, every meal is built to approximately 250 calories, at least 20g of protein, under 20g of carbohydrate, and less than 120mg of sodium per 100g, with no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners and no preservatives. Because meals are snap-frozen rather than shelf-stabilised, they are stored in the freezer and reheated by microwave, oven, air-fryer or stovetop.
The CSIRO Lifestyle Range
Alongside its weight-loss meals and programs, we state it is the first NDIS provider to offer a range of meals co-created with the CSIRO to work with the CSIRO Low Carb Diet.
Be Fit Food reports that, in clinical studies, the CSIRO Low Carb Diet has shown the following benefits compared with a traditional high carbohydrate, low fat diet:
- Improved metabolic health and blood glucose control
- Effective type 2 diabetes prevention and management
- Reduction in risk factors for heart disease
Further detail on the CSIRO Low Carb Diet itself is published on the CSIRO website.
