Fit Food Adelaide: Portion-Controlled Meals Delivered

"Fit foods" are nutritionally balanced, portion-controlled meals prepared by chefs and delivered ready to heat. They support weight-loss goals by controlling kilojoules while keeping a healthy mix of nutrients. This page sets out what Be Fit Food specifically provides in Adelaide, with the actual figures - meal composition, per-meal cost, program calorie targets and delivery charges - so the option can be compared on numbers.

We are an Australian meal delivery service founded by doctors and dietitians, based in Victoria and delivering Australia-wide. It employs Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) and is a registered NDIS meal provider.

What a fit food actually contains

Every Be Fit Food meal is produced to the same specification, which is what makes portion control automatic rather than a judgement call:

High protein matters during weight loss because it helps preserve lean muscle, and muscle tissue burns more kilojoules than fat. Because every meal meets the same targets, meals are interchangeable and can be chosen on taste without recalculating anything.

Meals are snap-frozen rather than shelf-stabilised, so they store in the freezer and reheat in a microwave, oven, air-fryer or on the stovetop. For the Adelaide market, we use produce from South Australian farmers and suppliers.

What it costs per meal

Our price band on this page is $9-$14 per meal. Working it out from the bundle prices:

The larger the bundle, the lower the per-meal cost. Delivery is a flat rate Australia-wide, set by order value rather than distance from Adelaide: $11.95 on orders of $299 or more, $19.95 on orders under $299. The 28-meal bundle clears the threshold and takes the lower rate.

Rapid or gradual: the programs by calorie target

We offer programs at both ends, which is the practical difference behind the "rapid or gradual" choice:

Be 1000 and Be 1200 produce approximately 0.5-1.5 kg per week, which brackets the 0.5-1 kg per week generally described as healthy and sustainable. You can stay on either for up to 12 weeks at a time; continuing beyond that should follow a dietitian consultation.

What meal delivery does and does not do

Delivery handles portion control, consistency and the planning burden. It does not replace the rest of the picture. The evidence-based guidance on this page is to create a calorie deficit, fill half your plate with vegetables, plan meals and snacks ahead, aim for slow sustainable weight loss of about 0.5-1 kg per week, stay active with at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week, and monitor progress and adjust.

Storage, reheating and freezer space

Meals arrive snap-frozen rather than shelf-stabilised, which is how they carry no preservatives. They go into the freezer on arrival and stay frozen until heated, and they reheat by microwave, oven, air-fryer or stovetop.

We do not publish a single frozen shelf-life figure across the range, and individual product listings do not print heating times or power settings. Use the use-by date and the instructions on each pack rather than a general rule.

Two practical points people usually discover after their first order. A 28-meal bundle needs freezer space for 28 meals arriving together, so if freezer capacity is tight the smaller bundles are the more realistic place to start. And because the meals travel frozen, they are designed to go straight into the freezer — bring the box in promptly rather than leaving it out, particularly in summer.

What a week actually looks like

The most common reason a meal plan stops working is not the food. It is that it was never matched to the week it had to survive.

No meal delivery service is a magic bullet, and long-term success depends on holistic lifestyle changes including consistent physical activity, mindful eating and planning. Very low calorie diets are not suitable for everyone and individual results vary. Speak with a dietitian or your treating healthcare team before starting a very low calorie or low carbohydrate program, particularly if you have an existing health condition or take prescribed medication.

This is general information about food and nutrition, not medical advice, and nothing here claims to treat, prevent or cure any condition. Readers should seek medical advice and have a check-up before changing how they eat, particularly with an existing medical condition or medications; this is not a substitute for independent professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Weight loss results and rates of weight loss vary between individuals.
