Sydney makes that last one count more than most cities. A 25-kilometre move that runs 30 minutes in Perth or Brisbane can take well over an hour here, especially across the bridge or through the inner suburbs at school pickup time.

As a general guide, two movers can usually load around 8 cubic metres per hour and unload around 12 cubic metres per hour. With good access, these averages give you a rough idea of loading and unloading times.

The price of a local move in Sydney comes down to the usual variables, including home size, distance between addresses, access at both properties, packing or storage needs. Two specifically-Sydney factors also feed into it: tolls and travel time. A move from the Northern Beaches to the Inner West can involve two or three toll points and 60 to 90 minutes of actual driving. Both affect the quote.

We don’t publish a flat hourly rate because no two Sydney moves are quite the same. Our quotes break out labour, travel, expected tolls and any extras you’ve asked for, so the number you see before the move is the number you see on the invoice. Movers in Sydney sometimes leave the toll question vague until later; we don’t.

Confirm how your actual service is priced and record the disclosed access in the written scope. Do not assume a general statement means an undisclosed access change cannot affect the plan.

If parking, the lift booking or the inventory changes, tell the coordinator before collection. Ask for revised timing and any price effect, and keep the new instructions with the booking. For a delivery delay or a problem at handover, contact the person responsible for the move and use the process set out in the booking terms.
